of <h1>Customs Notification 58/88: Exemption for Computers and Peripherals from Duty Over 35% Ad Valorem under Customs Act 1962</h1> Notification No. 58/88-Cus, dated March 1, 1988, issued under the Customs Act, 1962, grants an exemption for computers and peripherals classified under heading No. 84.71 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The Central Government, acting in public interest, exempts these goods from customs duty beyond 35 percent ad valorem when imported into India.
