of <h1>India Exempts Polyurethane Films for Leather Manufacturing from Customs Duties Over 40% Until March 1989</h1> The Central Government of India exempts polyurethane films and foils, with a thickness between 0.3 and 0.7 millimeters, imported for manufacturing finished leather, from certain customs duties. The exemption applies to duties exceeding 40% ad valorem under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. Importers must provide an undertaking to use the goods for the specified purpose, maintain records, and produce certified accounts of the goods' receipt and use. Non-compliance may result in the payment of the difference in duty. This notification is effective until March 31, 1989.
