of <h1>Customs Duty Update: Full Exemption from Additional Duty Under Section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act Added</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 262/86-Customs, originally dated April 24, 1986, under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment, effective from December 1, 1988, involves an addition to the original notification. It now includes an exemption from the whole of the additional duty levied under section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, in addition to the existing exemption from the entire customs duty specified in the First Schedule. This change is deemed necessary in the public interest.
