of <h1>Amendment Expands Import Concessions on Raw Wool to Include KVIC and KVIB Units, Enhancing Public Interest Under Customs Act 1962.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 17/88-Cus. to extend the concession on the import of raw wool to include units under the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and the State Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB). This amendment, made under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962, aims to serve the public interest by substituting the previous beneficiaries, which included Registered Apex Handloom Co-operative Societies and State Handloom Development Corporations, with the addition of KVIC and KVIB. This change is formalized in Notification No. 50/89-Cus. dated March 1, 1989.
