of <h1>Customs Duty on Computer Peripheral Parts Increased from 20% to 30% under Section 25(1) of Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 349/86-Cus. concerning piece parts for computer peripherals. This amendment, issued under Notification No. 88/89-Cus. dated March 1, 1989, modifies the previous customs duty rate. The original duty rate of '20 per cent ad valorem' is now increased to '30 per cent ad valorem.' This change is enacted under the authority of section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, in the interest of public welfare.
