of <h1>Customs Notification Amended: Telecom Director Now Authorized for Approvals Under Chapter 84, Section 25(1) of Customs Act 1962.</h1> Notification No. 241/89-Cus, dated October 3, 1989, amends Notification No. 60/88-Cus under Chapter 84, issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue. Exercising powers under section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, the Central Government has determined the amendment is necessary for public interest. The amendment modifies condition (1) of the original notification by adding that approvals can now be given not only by the Directorate General of Technical Development but also by a Director in the Department of Telecommunications of the Government of India.
