Customs Notification Amends Duty Rates on Polyurethane and Polycarbonate Products; Exempts PTFE Tapes Under Customs Act 1962
The notification amends previous customs notifications to adjust duty rates and exemptions. It prescribes effective basic duty rates on polyurethane films, foils, impregnating and falling compounds, polyacetals, polyphenylene oxide, and polycarbonates. It also withdraws the exemption from countervailing duty on PTEE tapes. Specific amendments include reducing the ad valorem duty rate from 40% to 35% in several instances and altering the duty calculation method in others. These changes are made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, and are deemed necessary by the Central Government in the public interest.
