of <h1>New Customs Notification Sets Duty Rates on Aluminum Products Between 35% and 55% Under Chapter 76</h1> The notification issued by the Central Government under the Customs Act, 1962, prescribes effective rates of basic customs duty on goods under Chapter 76 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. It supersedes a previous notification from 1986. The notification specifies that goods such as unwrought aluminum, aluminum waste, scrap, powders, and various wrought and alloyed aluminum products will be subject to ad valorem duties ranging from 35% to 55%. The exemptions apply to the extent that they exceed the specified duty rates, without affecting other existing exemptions.
