of <h1>Customs Duty on Waste Paper Reduced to 15% Under Section 25(1) of Customs Act, Effective May 16, 1990</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 219/84-Customs, dated August 10, 1984, concerning customs duties on waste paper or paperboard. Exercising powers under section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, the amendment reduces the customs duty from '20 per cent ad valorem' to '15 per cent ad valorem.' This change, effective from May 16, 1990, is deemed necessary in the public interest as per Notification No. 173/90-Customs issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
