<h1>India Grants Partial Customs Duty Exemption on Specific Goods Over 30% Ad Valorem, Effective from May 31, 1990.</h1> The Central Government of India has issued Notification No. 183/90-Cus, dated May 31, 1990, granting a partial exemption from auxiliary customs duty exceeding 30% ad valorem on certain specified goods. This exemption applies to goods detailed in an annexed table, covering various chapters of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The goods include lead concentrates, copper mill scale, zinc residues, linear alkyl benzene, polyester and viscose yarns, narrow elastic tapes, industrial diamonds, cold-rolled electrical steel sheets, certain machinery, tractors, and fire engines. This measure is taken under the Customs Act, 1962, and the Finance Act, 1990, in public interest.
