of <h1>Customs Act Amendment: New Rules for Polyethylene Import, Compliance with Indian Standard 7803 & Aseptic Machine Requirement</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 171/90-Cus regarding polyethylene and copolymers of ethylene under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment, effective from July 2, 1990, removes specific Indian Standard specifications from the opening paragraph. It revises clauses in the second proviso to require possession of Aseptic Form Fill Seal Machines and compliance with Indian Standard 7803 (Part II) 1975 for packaging materials. Additionally, it mandates payment of the duty difference if the importer fails to meet specified requirements.
