India exempts certain furskins from customs duties: white arctic fox, Persian lamb, black & white rabbits.
The Central Government of India, under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 253/90-Cus dated October 16, 1990, to exempt certain furskins from specific customs duties. The exemption applies to furskins of white arctic fox, Persian lamb, and black and white rabbits, as listed in Chapter 43 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The exemption reduces the customs duty to 20 percent ad valorem and removes the additional duty under section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act when these furskins are imported into India.
