<h1>India Updates Foreign Currency Exchange Rates for Imports, Effective August 1, 2002, per Notification No. 48/2002-Customs.</h1> Notification No. 48/2002-Customs (N.T.), dated July 26, 2002, issued by the Government of India, supersedes Notification No. 39/2002-Cus. (N.T.). It establishes new exchange rates for converting specified foreign currencies into Indian Rupees for imported goods, effective August 1, 2002. The exchange rates are detailed in two schedules: Schedule I lists rates for one unit of various currencies, including the US Dollar at 48.85 INR and the Euro at 48.90 INR, while Schedule II specifies the rate for 100 units of the Japanese Yen at 42.00 INR.
