<h1>Customs Act 1962 Amendment: Assistant Collector Can Approve Goods Transfer Between Zones or to Export Units</h1> The Central Government, under the Customs Act, 1962, amends Notification No. 340/86-Cus, dated June 13, 1986. The amendment introduces new provisions allowing the Assistant Collector to permit the supply or transfer of goods manufactured in a designated Zone to another Zone or a 100% Export Oriented Unit. This is subject to conditions set by the Assistant Collector, necessary permissions from the Development Commissioner, and compliance with the conditions outlined in the Handbook of Procedures for April 1990-March 1993. Additionally, an insertion is made in condition (IX) to include goods allowed for such transfers.
