<h1>Notification 39/2002-Customs sets new exchange rates for foreign currencies under Customs Act, effective July 1, 2002.</h1> Notification No. 39/2002-Customs (N.T.) issued on June 26, 2002, supersedes Notification No. 31/2002-Customs (N.T.) dated May 28, 2002. This notification, under the Customs Act, 1962, sets the exchange rates for converting specified foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported goods, effective from July 1, 2002. The rates are detailed in two schedules: Schedule I lists rates for individual foreign currency units, including the US Dollar at 49.10 INR and the Euro at 47.75 INR, while Schedule II provides the rate for 100 units of Japanese Yen at 40.30 INR.
