of <h1>Govt Updates Customs Notification: Spares & Consumables for Gem Sector Office Equipment Now Importable Under OGL.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 196/87-Customs, dated May 5, 1987, concerning goods for the gem and jewellery sector. This amendment, effective January 3, 1992, modifies the entry at serial No. 11 of the Annexure by including 'spares and consumables' for office equipment. These items are now permissible for import under the Open General Licence Order No. 20/90-93, dated March 30, 1990, as amended, and subject to approval by the Board of Approval. This change is made under section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
