of <h1>Amendment to Customs Notification: 'Spares and Consumables' Added to Gem and Jewellery Imports under Section 25 of Customs Act.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 262/87-Customs, dated July 2, 1987, concerning goods for gem and jewellery. This amendment, under Notification No. 14/92-Cus. dated January 3, 1992, adds the words 'and spares and consumables thereof' to the entry of serial No. 11 in the Annexure. These items are permissible for import under the Open General Licence Order No. 20/90-93, dated March 30, 1990, as amended, and are subject to approval by the Board of Approval. This change is made under the authority of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
