<h1>India Exempts Certain Pesticides from Customs Duty Over 30% per Notification No. 48/92-Cus, Replacing 1988 Rules</h1> The Central Government of India, under the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 48/92-Cus dated March 1, 1992, which exempts certain pesticide, insecticide, fungicide, and weedicide chemicals from customs duties exceeding 30% ad valorem. This supersedes the previous notification No. 15/88-Customs dated March 1, 1988. The chemicals listed in the exemption fall under Chapter 29 or Chapter 38 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The exemption applies to a specified list of 35 chemicals, including Dimethoate, Malathion, and Chlorpyriphos, among others.
