India Issues Customs Duty Exemption on Certain Iron & Steel Products, Superseding 1990 Notification
The Central Government of India, under the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 77/92-Cus dated March 1, 1992, exempting certain iron and steel products from customs duties beyond specified rates. This notification supersedes the previous notification No. 80/90-Customs from March 20, 1990. The exemption applies to various products under Chapter 72 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, with specified ad valorem rates for each category. However, exemptions do not apply to certain flat-rolled products if they are galvanized, painted, zinc-alloy coated, aluminum-alloy coated, color coated, plastic coated, or lacquer coated.
