of <h1>New Customs Notification Exempts Certain Computers from Duty Over 30%, Excludes Printers and Monitors, under Chapter 84</h1> The Central Government, under the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 93/92-Cus dated March 1, 1992, superseding a previous notification from December 16, 1991. This notification exempts certain goods under Chapter 84 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, specifically computers and computer peripherals, from customs duty exceeding 30% ad valorem when imported into India. The exemption does not apply to specific items such as dot matrix printers, floppy disc drives, line printers, computer keyboards, video display monitors/terminals, and monochrome graphic terminals.
