of <h1>Govt exempts dredger parts from customs duties under Customs Act 1962, sec 25(1) to aid repairs.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 106/92-Cus dated March 1, 1992, exempting components and parts for dredgers from customs duties. These items, classified under Chapter 89 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, are exempt from both the standard customs duty and the additional duty when imported into India for dredger repairs. This exemption is granted in the public interest to facilitate the maintenance and repair of dredgers.
