of <h1>Customs Act Amendment: Expanded Definitions for Materials & New Entry Added to Align with Export-Import Policy 1992-1997.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 162/90-Customs, dated March 30, 1990, under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment replaces 'raw materials and components' with 'raw materials, components, intermediates, consumables, parts other than spares and packing materials.' Additionally, a new entry, '(8) Any other item as may be specified by a Public Notice,' is added to the table following serial No. (7). This amendment aligns with the Export and Import Policy from April 1, 1992, to March 31, 1997, as specified in a Public Notice by the Ministry of Commerce.
