of <h1>India Exempts Fire Service Imports from Customs Duties under Customs Act 1962; Includes Ladders, Pumps, Rescue Tools</h1> The Central Government of India, under the Customs Act, 1962, exempts specified goods imported by fire services from customs duties. This exemption applies to goods such as turntable ladders, hydraulic platforms, portable pumps, pneumatic lifting bags, explosive gas detection equipment, rescue tools, gears, and certain spare parts. The exemption is granted when these goods are imported by fire services administered by central, state, or local governments for firefighting operations. Importers must provide a certificate from a designated government officer confirming the necessity of these goods for firefighting. This notification is effective until March 31, 1993.
