<h1>Government Reduces Customs Duty on Four Bulk Drugs to 25% Under Customs Act 1962 Notification No. 21/93-Cus.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 21/93-Cus. dated February 28, 1993, to exempt four specified bulk drugs from a portion of the customs duty. These drugs, listed in the annexed table, include Pilocarpine, Sulfadoxin, Sulphamethoxypyrazine, and Salazosulphapyridine. When imported into India, these drugs will be subject to a reduced customs duty rate of 25% ad valorem, as opposed to the higher rate specified in the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, in order to serve the public interest.
