<h1>Central Government Revises Customs Duty Rates Under Customs Act; Key Changes in Notifications 218/76-Cus. and 379/87-Cus.</h1> The Central Government, under the powers of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended certain customs notifications in the public interest. Notification No. 218/76-Cus. now changes the duty rate from 25% to 70% ad valorem. Notification No. 49/86-Cus. omits S. No. 1 and its related entry from its table. Notification No. 379/87-Cus. alters the duty rate from 45% to 50% ad valorem. These amendments are detailed in Notification No. 24/93-Cus., dated February 28, 1993, issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
