of <h1>Central Government Amends Customs Act Notifications; Increases Duty Rates and Updates Product Descriptions Under Section 25(1)</h1> The Central Government, exercising its powers under section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended Notification Nos. 29/79-Cus and 224/85-Cus. For Notification No. 29/79-Cus, the duty rate is changed from '45 per cent ad valorem' to '50 per cent ad valorem,' and the description for Sl. No. 14 is updated to 'Polishes, creams and similar preparation for footwear or leather.' For Notification No. 224/85-Cus, the duty rate is revised from 'thirty-five per cent ad valorem' to 'forty per cent ad valorem.'
