of <h1>Government Amends Customs Notification to Restrict Transfer of Imported Materials, Effective August 1993, for Public Interest</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 103/93-Customs, dated March 16, 1993, under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment, effective from August 13, 1993, adds a proviso to condition (6) of the original notification. It stipulates that materials imported under a license issued after March 31, 1993, cannot be transferred after fulfilling export obligations, realizing sale proceeds, and redeeming the bond by the licensing authority. Instead, these materials may be used by the importer for manufacturing other goods. This amendment is deemed necessary in the public interest.
