of <h1>Customs Duty Exemption for Fertilizer Plant Renovation: Conditions and Limitations Under Notification No. 66/94-Cus</h1> Notification No. 66/94-Cus, dated March 1, 1994, exempts certain goods imported for the renovation and modernization of fertilizer plants from customs duties under the Customs Act, 1962. The exemption applies to machinery, instruments, apparatus, appliances, and components, as well as spare parts and raw materials essential for maintenance. Conditions include certification by a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers for techno-economic clearance, recommendations for exemption, and certification of necessity. Import value for maintenance goods must not exceed 10% of renovation goods, and importers must commit to using the goods as specified or face duty repayment.
