of <h1>Baggage Rules Amended: Duty-Free Limit Raised to 75,000; New Annex Lists Electronics, Gold, Silver Items.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Baggage Rules, 1998, effective March 1, 2002, under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment includes changes in Appendix C, where the figure '30,000' is replaced with '75,000.' Additionally, a new Annex II is introduced, listing items such as televisions, video equipment, home appliances, computers, and gold or silver (excluding ornaments) as part of the baggage rules. These changes are detailed in Notification No. 11/2002-Customs (N.T), with prior rules published in June 1998 and last amended in August 2000.
