of <h1>Government Updates Customs Notifications to Assign Oversight to Directorate General of Hydro Carbons for Oil Field Equipment</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended several customs notifications to replace references to 'the Member-Secretary of the Empowered Committee on the Indigenisation of Oil Field Equipment and Services' and 'an officer not below the rank of Deputy Secretary' with 'a duly authorised officer of the Directorate General of Hydro Carbons' within the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. This amendment applies to Notification Nos. 514/86-Cus., 333/88-Cus., 196/89-Cus., 131/94-Cus., and 132/94-Cus., reflecting a shift in oversight responsibilities to the Directorate General of Hydro Carbons.
