<h1>India Lowers Customs Duties on Certain Chemicals for Pesticide Production Under Notification No. 18/95-Cus</h1> The Central Government of India, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 18/95-Cus dated March 16, 1995, exempting specified chemicals used in the manufacture of pesticides from certain customs duties. These chemicals, listed under Chapter 28 or 29 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, are eligible for a reduced customs duty rate of 40% ad valorem when imported by actual users. The notification includes a detailed table listing the exempted chemicals, such as B cisthemic acid, Chloroacetyl chloride, and Methylene bromide, among others.
