of <h1>Central Government Updates SEZ Notification: Expands Definitions and Authorized Operations Effective July 2009 Under SEZ Act 2005.</h1> The Central Government has amended the notification S.O.1846(E) from October 27, 2006, concerning authorized operations in Special Economic Zones (SEZs). The amendments, effective from July 27, 2009, involve changes to paragraph (B) and (C) of the original notification. The term 'Sector Specific Special Economic Zones' is replaced with 'Sector Specific Special Economic Zones including Special Economic Zones for Free Trade and Warehousing.' Additionally, new items are introduced under authorized operations, specifically warehousing and commercial operations, and other operations authorized by the Board of Approval. These changes are made under the authority of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005.
