of <h1>Government Amends Import Rules: Raises Readymade Garment Import Value Limit from 50% to 67% Under VBAL Scheme</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 107/95-Customs, dated June 2, 1995, concerning the import of readymade garments under the VBAL scheme. As per Notification No. 6/96-Customs, dated January 17, 1996, the amendment modifies condition (2) of the original notification. The change involves substituting the phrase 'not exceeding 50% of the value' with 'not exceeding 67% of the value,' thereby increasing the permissible import value percentage for readymade garments under this scheme. This amendment is enacted under the authority of section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
