The amendment specifies that imports and exports must be conducted through designated ports, airports, or inland container depots, including locations in Bombay, Calcutta, Madras, and others. However, the Commissioner of Customs may allow import and export through other locations by special order, subject to specified conditions. This amendment is made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
