of <h1>Central Government Updates Notification 36/96-Customs on Concessional Duty for Manufacturing Solar Cells and More Goods</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 36/96-Customs, originally issued on July 23, 1996, to update the conditions for concessional duty on specified goods under Chapters 1 to 99. The amendments specify that importers must comply with the Customs (Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty for Manufacture of Excisable Goods) Rules, 1996, for various conditions, including imports for manufacturing solar cells, Copper-T contraceptives, newsprint, pollution control goods, wristwatch components, and other specified goods. The notification takes effect from September 1, 1996.
