This amendment, effective from January 22, 1997, involves changes to the effective rate of duty for specified goods within Chapters 1 to 99. Specifically, in list 9 of the notification, item (22) has been revised by omitting the words 'and cables.' This amendment is made in the interest of the public as per the powers conferred by the Customs Act.
