<h1>Customs Act Amendment Expands Export Zones for Gems and Jewelry to Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 177/94-Cus under the Customs Act, 1962, to provide exemptions for specified goods used in the export of gems and jewelry. This amendment, issued as Notification No. 83/97-Cus on October 27, 1997, adds a new entry in Annexure-II of the original notification. The amendment specifies that exports can now be conducted through airports in Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad, expanding the zones for processing and facilitating the export of gems and jewelry.
