of <h1>Central Government Doubles Import Duty from 5% to 10% for Advance License Materials Post-April 1, 1997,</h1> The Central Government has amended Notifications Nos. 30/97-Cus. and 31/97-Cus. concerning materials imported under an advance license with actual user conditions issued after April 1, 1997. The amendments involve changes in the percentage figures within the notifications. Specifically, in both notifications, the figure '5%' in certain clauses has been replaced with '10%'. These amendments are made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, and are deemed necessary in the public interest.
