India Suspends Anti-Dumping Duties on Purified Terephthalic Acid Imports from Thailand and Indonesia for Provisional Review
The Central Government of India has addressed the import of Purified Terephthalic Acid from two companies in Thailand and Indonesia. Initially, anti-dumping duties were imposed due to findings that exports from Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia were below normal value, causing injury to the domestic industry. However, following requests for reviews by the involved companies, the government has provisionally suspended these duties, pending review outcomes. During this period, imports from these companies will undergo provisional assessment with a guarantee at Rs. 1939 per metric tonne. If anti-dumping duties are recommended post-review, importers will be liable for these duties retroactively.
