of <h1>Amendment to Customs Notification: Tax Exemption for Mega Power Projects with Specific Capacity Requirements</h1> Notification No. 70/99-Cus, dated June 1, 1999, amends Notification No. 36/97-Cus, under the Customs Act, 1962, by the Central Government. The amendment includes an addition to the explanation in clause (iii) of the original notification. It specifies that goods supplied to mega power projects listed in notification No. 20/99-Cus, dated February 28, 1999, are exempt if the projects are inter-state thermal power plants with a capacity of 1500 MW or more, or inter-state hydel power plants with a capacity of 500 MW or more, as certified by a senior government official.
