This amendment, effective from June 8, 1999, to March 31, 2000, concerns the importation of edible oils or materials from which edible oil can be extracted. The amendment specifies that such imports during this period will attract no customs duty, as indicated by the revised entry for S.No. 10 in the notification's table. This change is deemed necessary in the public interest.
