of <h1>Government Amends Customs Notification for Defense Imports; Changes Date Under Serial Number 15 to August 2000.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 39/96-Customs, originally dated July 23, 1996, concerning imports related to defense and internal security forces. Exercising powers under section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, the amendment is deemed necessary for public interest. Specifically, in the table annexed to the original notification, the date 'November, 1999' in the explanation under serial number 15 is replaced with 'August, 2000.' This amendment is formalized through Notification No. 118/99-Cus, dated October 29, 1999.
