of <h1>New Exchange Rates Set for Customs Duties and Stamp Duty under Section 14 of Customs Act, 1962</h1> Notification No. 38/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated August 28, 2001, issued by the Central Government, supersedes Notification No. 34/2001-Cus. (N.T.) and establishes new exchange rates for calculating stamp duty under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and for determining customs duties under Section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962. Effective from September 1, 2001, the notification specifies exchange rates for various foreign currencies, including the US Dollar, Euro, and Pound Sterling, among others, as listed in Schedule I and Schedule II. This notification is authorized by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
