<h1>New Notification Sets Exchange Rates for Stamp Duty and Customs Duties Under Indian Stamp Act and Customs Act</h1> The Central Government, under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 63/92-Cus. (N.T.) dated September 25, 1992. This notification supersedes the previous notification No. 59/92-Customs (N.T.). It prescribes exchange rates for foreign currencies to Indian currency for calculating stamp duty and determining customs duties on imported goods, effective from October 1, 1992. The schedule lists exchange rates for various currencies, including the U.S. Dollar at 3.3100, Pound Sterling at 1.9495, and Japanese Yen at 400.0000, among others.
