of <h1>Central Government amends Customs Act, 1962 notification to appoint customs officers in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim.</h1> The Central Government, under the Customs Act, 1962, has amended a previous notification to appoint customs officers for the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. For Uttar Pradesh, the Collector of Customs (Preventive) and other subordinate officers in Lucknow are designated. For Bihar, the Collector of Customs (Preventive) in Patna, along with additional and deputy collectors, are appointed. This amendment also covers certain districts in West Bengal and the state of Sikkim, with customs officers operating under the jurisdiction of the Collector of Customs (Preventive) in Patna.
