of <h1>Central Government Amends 1994 Notification, Adds Nine Tamil Nadu Ports for Coastal Trade Under Customs Act Section 7.</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended a previous notification from the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) dated November 21, 1994. This amendment pertains to the designation of ports in Tamil Nadu for coastal trade. The updated list of ports includes Colachel, Dhanushkodi, Kilakari, Kulasekarapatnam, Pamban, Portonovo, Rameshwaram, Thopputhurai, and Tondi. This change is formalized in Notification No. 2/96-Cus. (N.T.), dated January 16, 1996.
