of <h1>Central Government Amends Duty Drawback Rate for Goods under Customs Act, 1962; Effective March 25, 1996</h1> The notification, dated August 2, 1996, issued by the Central Government under the Customs Act, 1962, and the Customs and Central Excise Duties Drawback Rules, 1995, amends the rate of duty drawback for goods listed under sub-serial No. 5702 in Chapter 57 of the relevant table. Effective from March 25, 1996, the new rate of drawback is set at 7% of the free on board (f.o.b.) value, with an allocation of 4.5% for customs and 2.5% for central excise. This change updates the entries specified in the previous public notice dated June 16, 1995.
