of <h1>New Notification Sets Exchange Rates for Stamp Duty and Imports Under Customs Act Effective November 1, 1999.</h1> Notification No. 60/99-Cus. (N.T.), dated October 26, 1999, issued by the Central Government, supersedes Notification No. 56/99-Cus. (N.T.) and prescribes exchange rates for calculating stamp duty under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and for determining values related to imported goods under the Customs Act, 1962. Effective November 1, 1999, the specified exchange rates for various foreign currencies, including the US Dollar, Euro, and Pound Sterling, among others, are detailed in Schedules I and II, establishing conversion rates into Indian Rupees for both single units and 100 units of foreign currency.
