of <h1>Government Exempts Nuts, Including Cashew and Ground-Nuts, from Excise Duty Under Notification No. 29/86-C.E. Effective Feb 28, 1986.</h1> The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Central Excise Rules, 1944, has issued Notification No. 29/86-C.E., dated February 10, 1986, which supersedes the previous notification No. 17/70 dated March 1, 1970. This new notification exempts nuts, including cashew-nuts and ground-nuts, classified under Sub-heading No. 0801.10 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, from the entire excise duty applicable. The exemption will take effect on February 28, 1986.
