of <h1>Central Govt Amends Central Excise Rules 1944: Key Changes to Rule 2, Rules 100C, 100H, and Rule 224 Noted.</h1> The Central Government issued Notification No. 102/86-C.E. on February 27, 1986, to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, under the authority of section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944. Effective February 28, 1986, the amendments include changes to rule 2, substituting references from the 'First Schedule to the Act' to the 'Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985.' Additionally, modifications in rules 100C and 100H involve updates to chapter references and the omission of specific figures and letters. Rule 224, sub-rule (6), also sees the removal of certain provisions.
